Yahoo! Aerial Imagery coverage

Yahoo! Aerial Imagery covers all of Bristol and a lot of the surrounding area:

Outline of the area covered by Yahoo! Aerial imagery

We can map these areas much more easily. We still need to visit the streets to gather street names and other details, but the general road layout can be mapped without even going there. See Yahoo! Aerial Imagery.

GPS base map

There is a Garmin IMG file available for Bristol based on OSM data from 22/02/2007. This was created using mkgmap which is still experimental, but I've had good success using it as a base map for my mapping in Bath.
