Welcome to OpenStreetMap a free editable map of the whole world. See About and FAQ
|
Browse OpenStreetMap using the viewer on the openstreetmap.org homepage. Zoom in and scroll around our world map. Fully marked up SVG maps can be created using Osmarender. See Browsing
|
To edit OpenStreetMap you need to create an account. The online editor allows you to modify and add to the maps, using your browser. Streets, points and areas can be entered and line segments can be named. Maps can be annotated using the full range of metadata tags from the Map Features scheme. See Editing

Upload tracks
|
If you have a GPS Receiver you can contribute GPX Tracks. This is how we begin to build our street maps.

There are lots of ways to get help. We have a flavor for everyone's taste:

You can search the mailinglists as your question might have been asked before.
Forum
There is also a forum. You will need an OpenStreetMap account to be able to post replies and create new topics though.
IRC
Join the IRC channel to get in touch instantly.
