The page history shows what used to be on this page, and allows people to rescue an old revision. We may decide to do this, but otherwise a wiki 'sysop' user can delete this page more permanently at some point. In the meantime we should fix any pages linking to here.

personal accounts "My Account" (Flickr for maps - "my annotations")
tagging (del.icio.us for maps, each person can tag a location, e.g. pubs)
editable placename hierarchies using an outliner
interface every position with geourl.org (link to "sites near this place"? Or plot places on the map?)

for better scalability, have a time limit for storing GPS trails (e.g. trails should be converted to streets within 30 days or they will disappear)

Better; implement a filtering option where you can choose which track you want.
