OSM User Groups

At a time when the popularity and notoriety of OSM is growing quickly, the time has come for local user groups. I hope that starting user groups in local area will help to spread the word about OSM beyond the Geo community. We can also use Category:Users by geographical region to categorise our wiki user pages.

OSM Isle of Man, User Group

OSM Southern England User Group

Would like to start a group for people based in central Southern England (approximately the box with Weymouth to the SW, Brighton to the SE, up to the M4, outside the M25 and including the IoW) for pub meets and mapping events. Please email me on nick@hogweed.org if you're interested. Mapping events could include local, smaller-scale versions of the IoW weekend, aiming to complete mapping the main towns of the area such as Southampton, Portsmouth, and Bournemouth and the countryside areas like the New Forest, South Downs and Purbeck.
