System Administrators
From OpenStreetMap
These people are System Administrators with the power to do all manner of tinkering with the Servers :
- Steve Coast (User:SteveC)
- Tom Hughes (User:TomH)
- Jon Burgess (User:Jburgess)
- Grant Slater (User:Firefishy) - Server hardware dude
Former System Administrators
- Nick Hill (User:NickH)
The lead administrators for day to day operations on various machines are:
- www: Tom Hughes (User:TomH)
- tile: Jon Burgess (User:Jburgess)
- dev: Sebastian Spaeth (User:spaetz), and Nick Black (User:Nickb) (for stateofthemap hosting stuff)
- wiki: yann (?), and Grant Slater (User:Firefishy)
- svn (wiki alias): Tom Hughes (User:TomH)
There is a need to assign some Unix admin priviledges to other people, in order to lighten the workload, improve response times, and get some other server hardware set up. However this needs to be balanced with other considerations. Steve Coast discusses this on OSM-dev The future of sysadmin
There's a couple of other 'sysops' designated within this wiki. See Special:Listusers/sysop (These people can block users, 'delete' pages, 'protect' pages and a few other special wiki operations, but apart from that, everyone can edit everything, so everyone's a wiki administrator!)
