Opinion

• Not sure who the original proposer is. There was no page for this so I've created it and changed the tag from amenity=carrental to amenity=car_rental. Hope you don't mind! MikeCollinson 08:53, 11 June 2007 (BST)

• This is very useful for tourists, so using amenity= might be appropriate. However, there was general agreement to stop overloading this tag and use shop= instead for retail product/service outlets. What do other think? MikeCollinson 09:02, 11 June 2007 (BST)
  • I would see this as a tourist amenity. BTW: amenity=bicycle_rental was recently approved!

• Is car_rental too restrictive? Some outlets also or only rent vans and minibuses. MikeCollinson 09:02, 11 June 2007 (BST)
  • car_rental is the term that I would search for, if I would like to rent a minibus or alike, so I guess that's ok. Ulfl 13:22, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

• I guess it's also a good idea to use the recently proposed operator tag for common networks like "Sixt", "Europcar", ... (or would the term network be more appropriate instead?). Are there any reference numbers that we might want to apply as well? Shouldn't this apply to areas as well, as the parking ground can be quite huge. Ulfl 12:47, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
