Osmarender
When using Osmarender for Edinburgh you may find that it helps to adjust the value of the projection attribute in the osm-map-features.xml file. By default it is set to 1.6 which is fine for London, but should probably be different for Edinburgh. 80n 11:27, 28 Aug 2006 (BST)

I've just started to play with Open Street Map and live in Edinburgh. At the moment my plan is to get all the ways in the city centre labelled and hopefully I'll get my hands on a GPS fairly soon so I can fill in the gaps.... --Chris 16:14, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
- You'll find that when surveying the higher bits of the city centre with a GPS, all is fine. As soon as you do the lower level parts, you'll need to do many many passes over every route, to get a good average. Cowgate puts most urban canyons to shame! --Gagravarr 17:19, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

A720
I notice that most of the A720 is the wrong way round, i.e. the segments are backwards. The left lane should go anti-clockwise round the city and the right lane clockwise. 21:39, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

A1
I think that the A1 is displayed incorrectly. This should Terminate at the East End of Princes Street via Regent Road and Waterloo Place and not via London Road, Terminating by the Roundabout near the Playhouse. Unless things have moved around since Princes Street is now closed to cars in both direction. This needs to be checked and the missing Roads added. --Chris 11:25, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Depreciated stuff
There is a lot of work to be done in Edinburgh, I notice that there is a a lot of depreciated tagging such as the class key. Also, there is a lot of tagged segments that need to be made into ways. I also notice that a lot of the roads around Edinburgh have too many nodes in them, it might be advisable to delete some of them to simplify the the roads, and to make tagging them easier.
