I live just outside & work just inside the M25, on the Essex side of London. I came to this project through Linux user groups & geocaching activities, and had recently been trying to play with some map data.

Frustrated by the restrictive nature & scarcity of available data, this seems a really good idea.

I'm mostly working on Upminster to Basildon area, currently with a bit of a footpath emphasis as I've driven around with the GPS & got most major roads in my patch, but walk the dogs through parks on a regular basis. I do also visit the Isle of Wight from time to time, so you'll sometimes find me there as well.

I'd like to see contour data added to the map, but aim to get the roads & major features in first!
