Wivenhoe is a town in UK at latitude 51.8582, longitude 0.9653.
Progress
Most of the roads are mapped. A few closes need revisiting to clarify the data. Currently missing are the new housing developments in the south of Wivenhoe adjacent to the station and in the Cook's Shipyard area.
Update July 2008: While the weather's been nice my cohorts and I have been jogging and cycling around town collecting tracklogs both of roads we missed last time for one reason or another and of paths that we can use to extrapolate the land use boundaries.
TODO
- Need to figure out how to get the outline of the gravel pit without venturing into it, since it's private/dangerous.
- Need more info on the railway heading towards Alresford
- Keep an eye on Cook's Shipyard; the houses are still being built a year later.
- Need to figure out what to do about the River Colne. Currently a bit of it is marked in as being coast, but will somehow need to run a waterway=river up through Colchester and connect it to the "coast" path... advice on how best to tag this is welcomed! Also, the coast outline data doesn't agree with our GPS tracklogs for the streets and paths at the bottom of Wivenhoe, so we'll probably need to go and do the other side of the river at some point (Rowhedge and Fingringhoe) so we don't end up with an artifically thin river.
