A collection of SVG symbols created as a potential basis for more detailed cartography of woodland and trees.

Files were created by scanning a leaf, using threshold filtering and then edge detection in an image manipulation program (e.g., GIMP). Inkscape was used to create a path following the leaf edge.

Standard size is 1024 by 1024 with the leaf typically occupying around 60% of the area. Long leaves extend into the corners. Petiole is placed to top left at an angle of 45 degrees from vertical/horizontal.
