As I go about verifying the residential streets in Folsom, I survey them, then compare that to what is in osm. With that done, I surround the neighborhood with a landuse=residential. I add highway=turning_circle to the appropriate nodes too. I attempt to draw the landuse=residential polygon around the land that a single builder built.

I've also been adding commercial businesses by tagging the shopping centers with a landuse=retail or landuse=commercial, adding the buildings, then adding a point-of-interest node with the name and type of business.
