Agenda

TM3 Development

Blake explained that the release date will be around the end of next week [edited: an e-mail from him now specifies 2017-08-28]. He intends to have his gitbook documentation updated within the next couple of days and will inform Michael so that it can be reformatted for learnOSM in time.

Other Business

Blake asked our system administrator if he could do anything about the webhook through which we could receive notifications from Transifex once a document has been fully translated into a language (cf this github issue).

In resuming last meeting's discussion on attracting more volunteers to the Training WG Ralph suggested we put up a list of items which need to be done and keep them to small chunks. Melanie also suggested to discuss this at the upcoming HOT summit though only about half of the regular attendants of this meeting will be present. Suggestions which came up during the meeting include updates to learnOSM, a presentation about the working group, some regular tweet or other tip from learnOSM, monitoring new developments in iD.

Nick added that we need to widen our communications channels and try to be present on Facebook and Twitter as well. We already had a call for contents of tweets which delivered a limited number of suggestions. Nick volunteered to operate this but pointed out that he needs a backup when he is not available.

Ralph suggested that he would like a pop-up at the Tasking Manager with some tip or how-to. Blake opened a corresponding github issue for TM3.

There is general agreement that before attracting other volunteers to our working group the wiki entry must be cleaned up and reorganized. Michael said he would do this within a couple of days and inform the Training mailing list about the progress.

Nick mentioned that he prepared a learnOSM document on the OpenData plugin but would first consult with the imports mailing list whether they consider such a guide appropriate and how to include a warning that imports need prior approval.
