What are mapping parties?
Mapping parties are events where anyone can come and participate in the OpenStreetMap project. OpenStreetMap is a free, open source map that can be contributed, edited and used by anyone anywhere. Mapping parties are social events where experienced and new mappers can meet to share and learn more about the project. The events are generally held in a public place, and allow time for discussion, mapping and editing. The event is open to all.

- 9:30 am- 12:30 pm: Mapping time (walking/biking/driving)
- 1:00 pm- 2:00pm: Lunch + discussions
- 2:00 pm- 4:00pm: Uploading and Editing Map Data
- 4:30 pm: Pack up,discussion for people interested.

- To map all the arterial roads, public utilities nearby including correcting present EM Bypass
- To map all shops / commercial establishments around the place
- To map all ATM's/amenities in the area

- If you own a GPS (dedicated or GPS-enabled cellphone or bluetooth reciever), laptop, data card, please bring it along.
- We will have only two GPS units to loan.
- Mobile phone apps that helps to track with GPS-enabled cellphones.
