Minutes of meeting of the Training Working Group of the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team

Meeting commenced at 1900hrs Monday 21st November 2016 using the Mumble server, but IRC monitored.

LearnOSM TM Admin Module

Briefly discussed - Michael will review and amend as needed as soon as he can. Long discussion on problems caused when multiple imagery sources with different alignment are used on the same project. This led to discussion on Link <https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/File:Id-adjust-imagery.gif> also discussed.

Development of Tasking Manager

Blake shared link <http://54.161.108.170:6543/> which shows possible development of the Tasking Manager. Blake encouraged discussion & asked for updates on <https://github.com/hotosm/osm-tasking-manager2/issues>. Much of the discussion centered around messages and feedback to mappers - link <https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OSM_Tasking_Manager/Validating_data#Messages_to_Mappers>. e-Learning course

Discussion on current & potential positions. Still at the preliminary planning stage.

LearnOSM updates

Nick explained that a Myanmar (Burmese) team have been translating the site which is nearly ready for deploying - currently can be viewed at http://nick-tallguy.github.io/my/. Nick requested that the site be reviewed in case of any broken links Prior to the meeting Nick had circulated a message requesting help in reviewing the http://learnosm.org/en/map-design/ section which has been requested by the translation team. Nick is currently working to produce the down loadable documents.

Annual Summary

LauraOGrady proposed an annual report of the work of the Training WG be presented to the HOT mailing list - https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Humanitarian_OSM_Team/Working_groups/Training#2016 lists the previous minutes for the year.
