Mapping remotely

You are more than welcome, as always to join us remotely in helping to fill the gaps in the missing maps.

The tutorial for new mappers will start at approximately 1930 and will be broadcast via ustream- http://ustre .am/1iS6b - USE THIS LINK BUT TAKE THE SPACE OUT! If there are any tech problems, we apologise in advance - this is the first time we have used the service apart from testing...

Mapping tasks

Tasks for the night will include:

http://tasks.hotosm.org/project/729 (priority task, but for mappers with some experience)

http://tasks.hotosm.org/project/736 (for new mappers)

http://tasks.hotosm.org/project/749 (for new mappers - ROAD NETWORK ONLY)

Resources

The following links will help you get started and should answer a lot of technical questions you may have:

The HOT Tasking Manager

Mapping with iD (web-based and simpler, but slower and not as fun)

Mapping with JOSM (JAVA software needed, but faster and way more fun)

Support

If you want to get in touch, please do so with the hashtag #MissingMapsHelp and, if they are free, someone will get in touch.
