Key Value: waterway=floodway
A floodway is a man-made waterway used to divert a section of a river to prevent flooding. It is physically similar to a canal, but differs in purpose: it is not used for irrigation or transportation. Also, unlike a canal, the water level of a floodway can change dramatically throughout the year.
