Introduction

It appears that currently there's not much mapped in the way of gambling locations. Even bookmakers maintain a rather weak presence with less than 40 occurrences according to tagwatch. Considering the abundance of gambling, pretty much the world over, I think this could be affected by the lack of documented tagging standards.

Suggestion 1

My original idea was to propose the gambling=* key, to be use in conjunction with amenity=gambling. These values could be also used with other tags, if gambling is not the primary function of the location. Such as amenity=restaurant, gambling=slot_machines.

Suggestions / corrections welcome.

If a place offers multiple different types of gambling, you may use a semi-colon separated list as the value (but consider if the place is really a casino). This approach use same logic as Key:cuisine for restaurants.

Suggestion 2

An alternative way to render gambling opportunities is with the use of separate key:value combinations applied to a feature mapped with either an existing tag (such as amenity=cafe) or to a new amenity=gambling feature. These could include the following:

Gambling value types
