this proposal has very little content and is poorly explained. also, whether or not the tag is displayed can be inferred from the amount of surrounding detail, it's very clumsy to add it manually like this. this has been removed from the proposals page


type=country is a pub in the middle of nowhere, that's far enough away from other features that it can usefully be marked on a 1:50K map

type=urban is anything in or near a city (town,village) centre, where the presence of pubs can be assumed

This would let us use pub symbols where they appear at road junctions in the country, without cluttering town centres with a "PH" every 30 metres.
