Proposal
A lock (see Proposed_features/Lock) has a distance between the upper and lower levels which it is useful sometimes to know. (It allows you to calculate the total height of the flight, and is a factor in transition time.) This distance is referred to as the "rise".
Tagging
rise=<distance>
On a way, assuming that the tagging proposal for locks in Proposed_features/Lock is accepted.

this would be much better included within the proposal for locks, as an optional property. it's not been voted on yet, so we might as well include it there Myfanwy 09:27, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
