For asymmetric point features, this gives the compass direction of the asymmetry or which direction the node object points towards.
The degrees are measured between 0 and 360 where 0/360 means Grid North and 180 means Grid South.
Specific uses
- When used on a node with highway=stop, points in the direction of travel (along the underlying way) controlled by the stop sign.
- When used on a node with traffic_sign=*, points in the direction of the face of the sign.
History
- This proposal is adapted from Proposed features/direction by User:davidsv. It was renamed to avoid confusion with Key:direction used on mini_roundabouts and highway=steps.
