How to Map

Routes

A bus route that is relayed between different locations should have two or more relations with a single Relation:route_master as the parent. Route Relation:

• Should be created according to route=bus specifically mentioned here
• The name=* tag should include the starting suburb, destination and ref. Example: name=11: Newcastle to Charlestown
• The ref=* tag must be the route number. Usually seen on the back of the bus on an LED display. Example ref=11
• A color=* tag is optional for the route. Some routes have been using the official Transport for NSW bus colour which is color=#009ED7.

Route Master:

• The name=* tag should mention the ref=* and terminals. Example name=11: Newcastle to Charlestown via Mayfield
• Should be created according to type=route_master

An Example:

Stops

The Stop number can be seen bottom right

• A single node or area can be used for a stop.
• A bus stop is to be based off the Public transport version 2 tagging scheme.
• The ref=* tag must be the Stop Number. This is usually seen in a corner of the stop sign. It has the format of ref=2305117.
