OSM Map On Magellan

pymag is a bunch of Python scripts that can be invoked by command line. Started by Henrik Johansson it supports only ~80% of the official Map file format features. Had been introduced in 2008 [1] but seemed to be discontinued since 2010. It can read OSM data [2]

  • Generates Magellan detailed maps from OSM files
  • The map generation is highly configurable using a Osmarender like XML style file
  • Topographical maps can be created from any GDAL supported raster DEM file
  • Can generate POIs sorted in categories and sub-categories
  • Support for both big/small-endian byte order
  • Can download openstreetmap data from the internet

Currently NOT SUPPORTED is:

  • full custom coloring
  • Routing
