Hotels

Two hotels located between Manchester Piccadilly and the conference venue:

  • Manchester Conference Centre (part of University) includes Days Hotel Manchester: Web API [ Map]. OSM’ers used this hotel during the Mapchester mapping party in 2006 (fully booked)
  • Hotel Ibis (Charlesstreet): API Map Homepage (fully booked) There is also one in Portland Street.
  • EasyHotel.com has Weston Hall, Sackville Street, single rooms only, around £26 a night Map
  • User:Steve has floor/sofa space on the Wednesday/Thursday night and after the conference in Reigate, near Gatwick airport.
  • User:ivansanchez needs some suggestions for a good bed&breakfast near the conference site will be staying at the Hatters, most likely.
  • User:pere decided to stay at Britannia Hotel, which he hope is in walking distance.
  • User:Frederik Ramm has looked at various booking sites and decided to stay at the Ibis hotel which is in walking distance (about 1 mile) from campus (rate c. 55£/rm and night). There's a hotel on-campus called the Grafton Hotel (50£/rm and night) which has received very mixed reviews. If you're looking in the £75/rm and night range you might consider the "Atrium by Bridge Street" or the Best Western "Princes on Portland", both under 2 miles so still walkable. All this said without any local knowledge, just from Internet sources.
