We're running training sessions in Swanley, Kent, UK, for those interested in getting involved in the Missing Maps Project, and who have no prior knowledge of OpenStreetMap, the Tasking Manager or what’s involved. Each training session can cater for 8 people and lasts all afternoon. The aim is for attendees to feel comfortable mapping for HOT & the Missing Maps Project at the end of the session, probably using JOSM, but we will also cover iD.

We’d like these to be nice sociable, comfortable sessions which people feel happy to come back to week after week.

Location : Contact nick.allen.54@gmail.com - we are now meeting in one of our houses.

When : Monday afternoons, from 1 pm to 5 pm. We have also been meeting for another session part way through the week at one of our houses - gives you the chance to practice the skills with someone else who can help you (Currently Thursday evenings).

Cost : Free!

What you need If you can bring your own laptop, that would be great - much easier with a mouse as well. Operating system makes no difference, but it is a lot easier if you have a web browser other than internet explorer (problems with iD). If you can’t bring a laptop, let me know as I have a few spares I can bring along.
