How to Map
The way of a street or of a railway has to be split in three parts: the way before the cutting, the cutting itself, the way after the cutting.
- Mark the beginning of the cutting by a node.
In JOSM split the line bykey P, in Potlatch bykey x. - Mark also the end of the cutting by a node.
In JOSM split the line bykey P, in Potlatch bykey x. - Now select the way representing the cutting.
- Add the tag cutting=yes for a cutting on both sides or cutting=left/cutting=right in the direction of the way.
