A substation is a used to step-up or step-down the voltage=* within a electrical power network and generally approached by one of more sets of of power=lines and which may contain one or more power=transformers. The power=station tag is also used for this same facility. This tag should not be used for facilities where electrical power in generated, for which the power=generator tag should be used. How to Map
Nodes can be used for small substations. Areas are better for larger ones using aerial photography to identify their extent. Substations can vary in size from small little buildings the size of a garden shed to much larger installations to size of many football fields.

- operator=* The name of the company operating the substation.
- voltage=* The highest voltage of operation within the facility
Map representation
- area: This is an industrial type area, so something that ties win with the colour for industrial landuse, but darker area
- node: Some sort of symbol that prompts thoughts of electricity. A lightning flash, maybe?
