Creation

I've created a wiki page for Algonquin Provincial Park to keep track of editing progress in the park and to provide information on best practices for editors. At present time there the map of the park is of poor quality, lots of duplication of features and differing tags for similar features. I'd like to propose some tagging guidelines for hiking trails, cycling trails, campgrounds and other important features to make the map of this area more useful. Trailhead Parking Lots

I recommend tagging parking lots only with a node until we can get imagery of the area or a site survey with GPS.

As for tagging of parking lots, I've been using fee=permit to try to indicate that a park permit is required for the use of the facility. I've also considered access=customers but I feel that the my first choice is more specific. Didymops 02:25, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

Logging Roads

For tagging logging roads, I propose either access=forestry or access=no with foot=permissive. It is only legal for the general public to travel logging roads on foot and even this is somewhat discouraged for safety reasons. Not all restricted roads are logging roads so in those cases, access=no would be more appropriate. Didymops 19:16, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
