resolution

Video formats are likely to be pretty crap (PAL 576, NTSC 480), good optics and image stablisation may help. You're probably going to want to capture higher res, but can probably live with low framerates. Any compression is likely to blur out fine detail, such as that of street signs.

Rename or merge the page

We need to either rename this page or merge it with Video mapping. I guess my suggestion would be to rename this page "Video mapping with video_gpx.py" since it covers that approach in detail. -- Harry Wood 11:15, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

I agree with you Harry, we have to merge video mapping, this page, and the page of my video mapping plugin. Is it ok for the author? --!i! 08:19, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
I've already moved my content from the talk page for the video mapping plugin to the video mapping page. The structure is ready for content from this page. Also in my opinion the merge would make sense, since this page partly overlaps with Video mapping and partly explains video_gpx.py. But I agree that we should also hear the author.
