Respect the Import Guidelines

You should discuss this import at import mailing list, too. I think that HOT mailing list alone is not sufficient. --Nakaner (talk) 22:29, 9 February 2015 (UTC)

Two step import appoach

We were thinking of importing the data in a two step approach.

Step one: Import data using JOSM. Only check data for topology errors, dublications and obvious geometry errors. Done by a smaller group of experts who are familiar with JOSM

Step two: Validate all attributes and geometries using customized ID Editor Customized ID Editor will be hosted on WRI/ Moabi server. It will have additional baselayers with satelite images for the years 2000-2014 (Landsat), as well as Mapbox satelite base layer with high-res images Combination of base layers should allow to increase precision of geometry and identify start_date tag value as well as abandoned:date tag value There will be a broader call for action via Global Forest Watch Platform, Moabi Website and various OSM mailing lists. --TMaschler (talk) 12:43, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
