Discuss Isle of Wight workshop 2006 page here

Planning Info

I've deleted a huge chunk of planning info from this page, just because it makes everything look out of date. I appreciate that there may well have been useful chunks of information in there, so please grab stuff from the old revision and rewrite it in past tense where necessary.

In particular we had a list of people who were planning to go. Now we need a list of people who actually went! At some stage I suppose we'll have a 'mission debriefing' and 'thanks for coming' section here, but I guess a lot of people are busy processing the data and fixing technical problems at the moment. -- Harry Wood 09:22, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

Generalise/Move this page

Actually now I guess this is a bad page name. We should move this info to a section on the Isle of Wight page. Similarly information on Mapchester could be distilled into a section of the Manchester Page. This OSM Workshop page could then have more generalised information about workshops past/future. -- Harry Wood 22:57, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Could move this page to Isle of Wight workshop 2006, rather than trying to merge events pages with "place" pages? Ojw 15:18, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
OK moved. You're right. That's obvious first step yes. But my feeling is that these 'events' pages become a bit pointless after the event, and we just have unnecessary duplication. For example the best place to have any information about mapping Manchester is on the Manchester page. But separate workshop pages like this could be left behind I suppose. Need to make it clearer on the page, that this is documenting a past event, and that the corresponding 'place' page is where the current efforts are being coordinated -- Harry Wood 13:37, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
how quaint. Discussion from 2006. We've been doing a lot of that kind of wiki tidying ever since :-) -- Harry Wood 01:46, 6 April 2012 (BST)

Photos?

I was just tidying this to be a bit more or a (ancient) historical document. It made me wonder, were there no photos of people at this event? I see there's a photo of a photo on the guardian article -- Harry Wood 01:46, 6 April 2012 (BST)
