Maybe a better tag would be floodway=* instead of flood_prone? --Gorm 08:53, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
floodways are usually limited areas, where as flood_prone also covers flood plains which in some places of Australia can be 10's of km wide during heavy floods. -- Delta foxtrot2 09:01, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Heavy rain only?

Why it is restricted to heavy rain only? What about flooding caused by other factors, such as regular tidal flooding? It seems that given tag name, no matter original intention, it should be not be defined this way (I just seen someone use it for footway with tidal flooding) Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 14:12, 10 February 2021 (UTC)

culverts

Why does the section “Mapping Waterway Crossings” categorically recommend tagging waterway segments as culverts where they cross highways? The tag description for culverts appears quite clear that it’s for man-made structures – to me, it seems obvious that it should only be applied where such a structure actually exists, and not on every waterway–highway-intersection which gets flooded?
