Maxwidth except...

I have a road in the UK, which is maxwidth 6.5 feet except for access. How would I set this? Similarly another example is except for loading? --RobJN 22:43, 27 May 2011 (BST)

This might be solved using a conditional restriction: maxwidth=6'6" + maxwidth:conditional=none @ destination. --Biff (talk) 17:09, 8 September 2016 (UTC)

Physical/legal

(As a see also note:) In reality the width restriction can be physical, or purely legal. There's some (old) discussion on whether, or how to, make a difference between them at Talk:Key:maxheight. Although in theory the same problem applies to height limits, in very tight corners the maximum physical width for a vehicle depends also on the length of vehicle - the maximum physical width for the way past that corner doesn't, though.
