Five wires

How to tag five wires? See example. Maybe fivefold? --Canabis 09:00, 19 May 2011 (BST)

perhaps we should change the wires-tag to using numbers: wires=1, 2, 3, ... etc -- Schusch 08:41, 20 May 2011 (BST)
I approve. --Canabis 13:55, 20 May 2011 (BST)
I oppose: 1.) Many people confound the keys cables=* and wires=*. Using words for wires=* and numbers for cables=* can help to detect this errors. 2.) With words for wires=* also additional Tags like note=3*single*110 kV; 6*double*220 kV for power lines with cables=9, voltage=220000;110000 and wires=double;single are clear without ambiguity. 3.) There are only six or seven values for wires=* and values greater than wires=quad are only seldom used. Adjuva 21:52, 28 July 2011 (BST)

Photo of overhead power line with a splitting to 5 wires. Upper ground wires were also intended for communication. Source, see Usage for communication systems. --Canabis 14:13, 20 May 2011 (BST)

Alternative wording

This document [1] uses 'simplex', 'duplex', 'triplex' as alternatives to single, double and triple. --Gorm (talk) 07:12, 1 August 2014 (UTC)
