Hi, I think we could greatly improve the part about obstacles/obstruction with out aeroway_obstacle proposal. It could take care about detailed and accurate tagging of obstacles (which is even - more or less - derived from FAA definitions). --Alpilotx 21:21, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

the big question is: whether someone tagging a crane, transmitter, cathedral, etc. would even notice the effect it might have on aeroplanes and know to tag it as an aeronautical hazard. Ojw 21:29, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

Text for runways and taxiways

What do you think about text for taxiways and runways beginning from a certain zoom level, like in http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/User:TobiBS/Kosmos_Air_Nav_Rules I tagged EDVE (Braunschweig) as an example with the corresponding ref-tags as specified in the Map Feature catalog, now it looks as you can see on the right side.

Example of an edited AirNav Style

The only problem is that the WayCenter attribute doesn't really center relative to the way, but to the node that is in the middle of the chain, that means it is some kind of median, not arithmetic mean which results in problems for short two node taxiways. Another issue: In Frankfurt for example the runways are tagged with name, not ref, has there been any discussion or ideas about? TobiBS 09:21, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Looks good. I suppose anything which makes it look more like aerodrome charts at high zoom is a good thing. Ojw 15:23, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
