Nominations

User:Spaetz for producing and submitting our successful bid for the Google Summer of Code. -- Mikel 21:46 17 Mar 2007 (UTC)

As soon as the Name finder works again I'd like to nominate the person in charge. -- Fröstel 17:10, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

  • ...and this turns out to be David Earl (oh, surprise). He really did an awesome job, enabling a fast and tolerant search and nightly updates. Now we're able to locate places Google is totally unaware of. -- Fröstel 23:11, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

User:Crschmidt for getting a 0.6 test server up and running on dev.--Bartv 07:26, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

User:Etric Celine for Tagwatch (though it keeps improving) --Robx 08:16, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Historical Nominations

Right let's have another one. Keep 'em rolling. Who's been awesome this past week? -- Harry Wood 11:27, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

  • How about User:bobkare for tuning Osmarender to propper placement of names/labels in oddly shaped areas. A C-shaped lake used to have it's name printed on the peninsula (ie. center of gravity), now it's within the lake. (Not yet all T@H-clients use it) -- User:Fröstel 13:49, 16 February 2008
    • +1, also general rendering additions to the osmarender scripts as we think of more stuff to add. --Edgemaster 17:30, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
  • Nominate User:Gravitystorm for his cycle map. This awesomeness has been around for a while. He recently added relief contours lines. -- Harry Wood 21:27, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
    • Cancel that. It's a featured image instead. -- Harry Wood 12:40, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
  • Next up should be kleptog for work on the coastline checker, pushing forward better mapnik coastlines? --Edgemaster 23:12, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
    • Indeed. Since the coastline checker predates mod_tile, let's have kleptog first and then jburgess for mod_tile and using the coastline in Mapnik. --Colin Marquardt 10:59, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
    • Ok, I've gone ahead and awarded it, since its been about a week for steve8. --Edgemaster 23:43, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Is it possible to nominate someone/something for the lolcat of awesomeness? If so, I would like to nominate Mkgmap. Mkgmap allows for truly awesome use of the OSM data on Garmin GPS devices and the author has done a great job at that. --Lambertus 10:29, 5 October 2007 (BST)

It's a wiki-style award - if you think someone deserves it, go ahead and give it to them! Mkgmap's a great suggestion, I've put it on the page. --Richard 12:45, 5 October 2007 (BST)
Ok, thanks! --Lambertus 18:08, 5 October 2007 (BST)

Other

Surely "I IS PROPURR CATOGRAFUR NOW" is the correct spelling?

Uf curs, lol!
Just to ensure the OCD & pedantic are satisfied, "I am a proper cartographer now. (I have the required credentials and licenses for drawing on our world.)" ;)

Time for new nomination?

Is anyone still here? Jc86035 (talk) 13:31, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

The locat was retired from the wiki Main Page, but could nominated and brought. If you haven't already, see this discussion: Talk:Main Page#Retire Lolcat of Awesomeness. -- Harry Wood (talk) 13:45, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
