Groups by template harvesting

Hi in Germany we use the template:Lokale Gruppe(engl. local group) to mark a local user group and present it on openlayers on http://www.openstreetmap.de

Wouldn't this be great for our whole gobal community?

Yes. That's now been set up. We have Template:user group in english. This is a template to appear on a suitable sub-page of Mapping projects. People should set this up, when they're getting a user group going. With that in place it magically appears in Category:User group and on the map at http://usergroups.openstreetmap.de/ -- Harry Wood 03:09, 15 September 2011 (BST)

Cleanup request

If this list links only to wikiproject XYZ this is nonsens. To provice contacts to found a group this is cool. So lets shrink them down? --!i! This user is member of the wiki team of OSM 13:23, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

Yes. I've just blown away the list of links by country. This is some old wiki structure from 2006. It unnecessarily duplicates the Mapping projects page. This page is now just a definition and set-up guide for "user groups". -- Harry Wood 03:09, 15 September 2011 (BST)
Thanks Harry, now much better :) --!i! This user is member of the wiki team of OSM 08:23, 15 September 2011 (BST)
