notes on updating daily

Quoting from User:Matt on this, if you're using the daily diffs and want to switch (probably a good idea because it's not 100% guaranteed that the dailys contain all elements due to the long-running transaction / waiting problem) then you can still run updates on a daily basis. You just have to set your maxInterval in configuration.txt to 86400 and point at the hourly replication diffs. Then each run of osmosis will concat the 24 hourlies to make a daily for you.

Could add this to the page, but not sure it fits really. Just noting it here for my own reference really

Missing updates

There are no updates after april, what happened? H4ck3rm1k3 09:54, 1 August 2012 (BST)

The updating diffs are at a different location during the redaction period. This has been widely discussed, and can be discovered on the planet.osm site itself, but yes it wasn't very clear on this page. I've added a new section Planet.osm/diffs#Redaction period -- Harry Wood 14:18, 1 August 2012 (BST)

Link to a tool dead

the link http://toolserver.org/~mazder/replicate-sequences/ about the timestamp tool is Status 403 due to user inactivity
