Produce

Rather than creating a new key aquaculture it would be interesting to use a more generic key like produce. --FrViPofm 13:43, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

How to tag a site as a whole and the single ponds?

In my region there are many small hobby fish farms, usually along streams. Such a fish farm has a fence around it, and I call the whole farm a site. Inside it, there are usually several ponds or basins fed with stream water.

So the question is:

How to tag a site as a whole and the single ponds/basins?

Currently, I tag the fenced area with barrier=fence and the ponds with landuse=fishfarm.

However, I would accept any reasonable proposal that makes clear what is what.

And it must be possible to tag the stream as afflux and efflux.

Farmland

I think this would be good as under farmland, aquaculture=yes.

This is a very big part of life in Indonesia. Within a given square kilometer you will see 1 or tens of these ponds. Freshwater fish is a large protein staple. Grazing animals and animal husbandry in general is not common here. --Alexrollin 05:18, 10 April 2012 (BST)

In China too

I mainly cartography china, and there are millions of aquaculture ponds everywhere, this is really a needed feature, at least for Asian countries.Popolon 21:42, 10 July 2012 (BST)
