For me this is a good proposal Lucadelu 20.10, 9 february 2008

Fishery?

While I think there's a good case for a shop=fish tag, I'm not sure Fishery is the best name for it. A fishery, too me, suggests the place where fish are bred rather than sold. In the UK the term Fishmongers is often used, or alternatively Fish Market would be better. tommys

Seafood

I think this is a good idea. Another alternative would be shop=seafood since all kinds of seafood are typically sold at fishmongers. jas4711

Ah yes, but some fish are freshwater. The word "seafood" is used to describe all the weird and wonderful kinds squid/shellfish etc ...except for fish.
I notice however that shop=seafood has been accepted and documented now

In fact I'm going to label this proposal as "Rejected", since the discussions in relation to seafood did cover the idea of shop=fish, and rejected it. The seafood proposal should have linked to related proposals (this one), and while that discussion was happening they should have prominently pointed people to there from here. ...That's what should have happened. But instead they just set up shop=seafood and left this proposal dangling. Even so I think we can label this is Rejected (indirectly)
If someone wants to propose shop=fish now, please make sure you explain how it will be distinguished from shop=seafood, what changes will need to be made to shop=seafood definition (or if you want to replace that tag) for things to make sense

Butcher

Maybe this should go under shop=butcher, and have the extra tag: butcher=fish. EsbenDamgaard 12:46, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
