Good idea

For Japan, this would be very very useful, I think. --Douglas P Perkins 09:02, 15 October 2012 (BST) One of the many Japanese tags needed. --John Willis Nov 1 2013

It is also a very common feature in China. How can we continue proposing this feature? --Rc1028 (talk) 14:31, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

Suggest leisure=karaoke

The amenity=* key has too many values. Why not use leisure=*? Also, simplify from "karaoke_box" to just "karaoke". In the Philippines, these places are called karaoke, videoke, or KTV establishments. —seav (talk) 21:38, 22 February 2014 (UTC)

Is it a bar with karaoke?

There are some of these in the US too -- bars that have rooms you rent with friends, right? Maybe it should just be tagged as a bar with another field, like karaoke=yes for general karaoke that everybody can do, and karaoke=boxes or something for the rooms you rent? --Marion Barry (talk) 18:51, 25 November 2016 (UTC)

I agree with this idea, there is no need to create a new amenity key imho; a karaoke=yes/boxes seems great to add on amenities like amenity=bar or cafe or restaurant.
