Use the key building=* instead

I believe this should be building=security_booth instead of amenity=security_booth. --Jgpacker (talk) 13:01, 20 December 2014 (UTC)

If this is used with an existing building=* tag, I think it would provide the same benefit (of identifying the feature as a building) while adding richer information, and better integrating with the existing tagging scheme in place. In particular, I would suggest amenity=security_booth + building=kiosk, since the latter's description of a "small one-room building, [...] often used for selling small goods (shop=kiosk) or for some service provision (shoe repair, information, key cutting etc)" is IMO compatible with a security service. --Waldyrious (talk) 18:11, 13 August 2022 (UTC)
Update: a building=*-based tagging scheme has reached consensus in building=guardhouse. See the discussions linked in that page for context. --Waldyrious (talk) 16:40, 16 November 2022 (UTC)

Delete request

I downgraded the delete request. This tag is used about 280 times and there seems to be no other documentation. I agree that the proposal is not very helpful, but it seems to be the only information available or did I miss anything? --Tigerfell This user is member of the wiki team of OSM (Let's talk) 11:35, 23 June 2021 (UTC)

Since consensus has been reached around building=guardhouse (see discussion at Talk:Tag:office=security), hopefully there will now be documentation and support for coalescing the tagging scheme. --Waldyrious (talk) 16:40, 16 November 2022 (UTC)
