Why is this not recycling=waste?

Why does this need to add to the crowd in "amenity"? --Lulu-Ann 12:55, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Looking at tagwatch, the most commonly used tag seems to be amenity=waste_basket (yet only 592 times in Europe). There only few cases of recycling:waste=yes. Anything bigger is often amenity=waste_disposal. Alv 13:25, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
I did choose the name due to it being the name in wikipedia for this kind of features. I have no other argument why it can't be named waste basket or trash can or something similar. And yes: this feature I thought would be for waste baskets smaller than what I've understood waste disposals are thought to be. Averater 07:18, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
Because it would be very inapropriate to add it to the crowd in "military"... :) I think this is a feature that needs to be added and I couldn't think of a better place for it to be. Averater 07:18, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
amenity=bin is used 183 times in GB, with no waste_basket as far as I can see (though I don't understand the mysteries of Tagwatch). --EdLoach 07:59, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
