Proposal talk:Anime

Ridiculous

Unless we now add a tag for every conceivable type of shop there is no way this should happen. To illustrate the point, there are shops that sell washing machines! There are no doubt many many more shops selling washing machines around the world so we'd better sort this out before anime. Lets create a new tag!!!!! We can have a logo of a washing machine (smiling or otherwise - not fussy) on the map! here is my proposal:

washing-machine Attributes

Let's add information about what washing-related stuff the shop sells:

  • washing-machine:spin-cycle=yes/no — sells washing machines with spin cycle
  • washing-machine:large-door=yes/no — large doors;
  • washing-machine:gift or washing-machine:present=yes/no — gifts/present for the wife;
  • washing-machine:ecowash=yes/no/only.
  • washing-machine:dries=yes/no — controversial one this one, after all a washing machine that dries is a washer-drier so really in the cause of fairness we should add a washer-drier-machine tag!
If that information is useful, relevant and has simple tagging system — why not? --Surly 10:45, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

As discussed below, "shop=anime" is sufficient.

When I want to buy a costume, but most of local anime shops offer videos and books only, then anime:cosplay=yes will help me VERY much. --Surly 10:45, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

shop=anime

  • Why not just shop=anime?--Pobice 19:32, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
    IMHO anime_stuff is more common including video, manga, CD with OST, anime figures and other things (sorry my English)--Ergo 19:22, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
  • +1 for just shop=anime. The stuff suffix adds nothing. Sean Horgan 20:35, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
  • OK, fixed shop=aime_stuff -> shop=anime. Thanks for correction--Ergo 21:10, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
  • +1 for just shop=anime.--ZMWandelaar 21:40, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
  • Seems kind of narrow. Is there a broader category, like "shop=culture", "shop=entertainment" or something that this could be a subtag under? Having thousands of different tags makes it unlikely any renderer will support everything. Stevage 05:52, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
The anime shops I know of also sells fantasy books, roleplay games, collector games, etc. I would tag these as shop=books or shop=games with an anime=yes tag rather than shop=anime. I know of no shops that specialize only in anime and cosplay. --Skippern 06:29, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
I think that shops where anime has a main part are exist--Ergo 16:32, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
AFAIK, there are one famous anime-specific chain store(Animate) in Japan, but most of anime-stuff sellers are part of manga shop. I don't think that independent tags are needed. argrath 14:05, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
  • In fact, that there isn't a tag for a much more common shop for selling only cd's and records, we shouldn't do that for a very special kind of shop like anime. --Benschi 09:28, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

Attributes

Let's add information about what anime-related stuff the shop sells:

  • anime:video=yes/no — video disks and tapes;
  • anime:manga=yes/no — manga books;
  • anime:cosplay=yes/no — costumes;
  • anime:gift or anime:toys=yes/no — gifts, toys, souvenirs;
  • anime:hentai=yes/no/only.
Let's try :) But anime:hentai is undue, IMHO--Ergo 16:35, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
why anime:cosplay=yes/no over anime:costume=yes/no or even a more general key. From what I gather from the linked wikipedia article, cosplay is the act of doing stuff with anime costumes. --Pnorman 19:42, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
You right. Fixed anime:cosplay -> anime:costume--Ergo 05:49, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
