service=green_alley

why not "service=green_alley" instead of "service=alley" + "alley=green_alley" ? --Pieren (talk) 17:46, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

Fundamentally, a green alley is not much different than a regular alley. They represent the same thing in the real world; as such, shouldn't they be represented by the same tags? The fact that an alley is a green alley is then an additional attribute that is represented by a new tag. --Zethradon (talk) 01:09, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

service:alley=green

How about "service:alley=green" or "certification=City of Montreal Green Alley". The green alley program is likely to be very different in other cities, but the concept is the same. "certification=City of San Francisco Pridefull Alley" "certification=City of New York Crime Prevention Alley" "certification=City of Chicago Green Alley"? I like this idea of "certification". If more than one certification applies, is it possible to have multiple tags with the same key? --Zethradon (talk) 19:08, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

service=alley + alley=whatever

This is my suggestion. No new tag is needed to cover this. Compatibily is so granted! green_alley seams to be a special local feature (in Montreal). --EinKonstanzer (talk) 12:33, 28 November 2014 (UTC)
