Suggesting location

I would like SOTM to be held somewhere where mapping have started, but need more reqruiting / advertisement / motivation to get the job done. Most of Europe have a good coverage (though there probably are some places that still need more work), so I suggest to look out, for instance to latin america, south-east asia, middle east or north africa. (I myself hope you get it going in Brazil, in that case I would mark it in my aggenda and try to get there). --Skippern 20:03, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Can I suggest that a primary requirement for a venue should be the availability of good rail and air connectivity to large numbers of OSM users and also a good local community that can attend at low cost. This is likely to be a place that is well mapped already but in the past conferences have not led to a lot of mapping activity. A significant number of contributors to OSM were put off attending SOTM08 due to the choice of a location that made surface travel difficult and for some people required two flights. Can I suggest a European city with good rail services within Europe and direct air services to the world. For example Paris, Berlin, Cologne, London etc. -- PeterIto 17:22, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
Looks like it's going to be in either Gran Canaria, Amsterdam or Trento (Italy). We'll found out which soon. Don't know exactly how those options were arrived at, but I imagine it was mostly whoever got their asses in gear with a good proposal :-) -- Harry Wood 09:40, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Business Day

Where exactly has the provisional program for the business day program been published? Can you link to it from the reference on this page? PeterIto 15:29, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Volunteers

Is anybody reading the list of volunteers? I assumed those of us who volunteered would get a call for action, but I haven't heard anything. Pemberton 21:19, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
