Should be industrial=scrapyard

industrial=scrapyard - It's that way in the http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/scrapyard and is more common "scrapyard" inurl:co.uk > "scrap yard" inurl:co.uk--AndiG88 (talk) 08:45, 2 August 2014 (UTC)

It seems that industrial=scrap_yard is more common in OSM. I have created a page for it. Chrabros (talk) 06:57, 9 September 2016 (UTC)

Is there any objection to merge this article with industrial=scrap_yard? It makes no sense to create two articles with similar meaning to the name. --Władysław Komorek (talk) 08:45, 14 December 2018 (UTC)

One point of confusion that I have with merging the two is that in the USA; there are what are called junk yards or auto salvage where people bring their used cars/automobiles there (and only cars/automobiles are accepted there) and then other customers can visit the business and purchase the used parts from those junked cars if they wish (and they eventually are sold purely for their scrap after a certain point I think?)

Then there also 'scrap yards, which customers bring metals (like left over copper, brass) from a construction or building demolition projects or discard appliances; people cannot buy anything here, the only transactions that happen here are from people coming to sell their metals to the business. +1 for the merger -- CBRS (talk) 03:26, 21 February 2021 (UTC)

Get a proper feature tag?

This is currently a property to refine industrial landuse, but car wreckers may also be interesting as features, i.e. with name, operator, address tags, etc. because people go there to dispose of cars or buy used parts. --Dieterdreist (talk) 15:22, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
