Recreational / ornamental ponds?

The description on the main page mentions only ponds built for some specific industrial processes. This seems to exclude ponds created for recreational or ornamental purpose, such as ponds in gardens and parks used to decorate the landscape, perhaps exhibiting koi or other aquatic life, perhaps sporting decorative fountains. Larger ponds could be accessible to pedal boats and other recreational watercraft. Other ponds could be stocked with food fish for recreational fishing. Many ponds also serve as water hazards for golf courses.

I propose we expand the definition of landuse=pond to include manmade ponds built for any purpose (except those covered by other tags such as landuse=basin or landuse=reservoir). --T99 19:03, 22 September 2011 (BST)

I agree, in fact most ponds that I encounter are mostly recreational/ornamental, with little or no secondary purpose.

Should this tag be replaced with natural=water+water=pond? Or are the two different? -- Pbb 21:01, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
