landuse=apiary seems a better option for cluster of hives

I think the cluster of hives should not be mapped with a lot of single hives man_made=beehive because they are: too short stay in one place (mostly), too small, too many in one place. I think will be better the area with cluster of hives tagging as landuse=apiary with information about capacity. for example: landuse=apiary + capacity=230

One beehive is already an apiary/bee farm! Much better tag will be landuse=apiary with node > area.

landuse=apiary?

Is it really a good idea to use such highly specialized landuse value? I would tag it as landuse=farmland + farmland=apiary, to allow typical data consumers to use this data Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 08:00, 30 January 2018 (UTC)

capacity

capacity=230 - is it beehive count? Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 08:02, 30 January 2018 (UTC) ːYes, although swarm count may be larger. It depends on the knowledge we have. Cz ja (talk) 10:32, 30 January 2018 (UTC)

So capacity may be beehive count or bee count? It seems better to have this information in two separate tags, not in one. BTW, is it even possible to get verifiable bee count? Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 10:32, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
The most common is that one beehive is one bee family. Rarely, less and less often (due to the weight, size of hives) you can find special double hives with two families. The more the environment is changed by human(chemization, exaggerated care for green areas) the bee production is less profitable or unprofitable. To increase the profitability of bee production, especially on large apiary farms, a traveling economy is used. Bees are transported to a specific place where is feed eg: orchard, oilseed rape, acacia, lime, heather, phacelia, honeydew etc. In a temperate climate (I do not know how it is in the tropics) bees return to the area called wintering ground landuse=apiary, most often in the beekeeper's garden or in a friendly garden, meadow. I think could add to landuse=apiary information sesional=yes/no in case if we are sure that landuse=apiary is in a given place for only some time.
"It seems better to have this information in two separate tags,"
It's better to have data in one tag. The accuracy of such information should be sufficient.
"is it even possible to get verifiable bee count?"
Approximate. The beekeeper knows best because it keeps notes, the maper can only estimate the number of families based on the number of hives, the Mapper probably does not know what age, strong, healthy the bee family is. Cz ja (talk) 18:25, 1 Febuary 2018 (UTC)

"The area with cluster of hives may be be tagged also with information about capacity." I think fits better "should be" than "may be" capacity is very important information to obtain on the basis of photos or interview.
