useful combination: ref and notice
Hi,
I think that it could be useful if we could specify the reference of the camera: for example with ref=*. This indicates the "serial number" of the camera (as the bus station reference).
For the other hand, it could be useful if we could specify if the camera has a "notice" that contains information about operator and that in that zone there are cameras. Something like surveillance:notice=yes??--Xan 08:37, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
- How about a simple description=* for that? Lulu-Ann
- Really it's not a description. It just indicates that it has a notice. A description could provide more information, I think.--Xan 15:18, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
- OK, can you explain the difference in handling a notice and a description? It is both text, and it will be written to be read. I can see no difference in handling both kinds of text. I can also not see any difference in usecase. If you want more information, read the description or notice. So why invent a difference? Lulu-Ann
- I don't want to put the text in the notice of the camera. I only want to note that there is a "notice" below the camera. I understand that a description of an element says what is this element. A typical description could be as "a traffic camera that controls....".--Xan 13:07, 8 August 2010 (BST)
- For example, this shows want I say. surveillance:notice=yes, description=traffic camera. And perhaps surveillance:notice_description="Zona Vigilada..." (the message of the notice).--Xan 09:57, 11 August 2010 (BST)
- What you want to tag is not a notice, but a sign. Why don't you tag it surveillance:sign=yes ? Lulu-Ann
- Yes. It's exactly what I want. Thanks Lulu-Ann.

Something like type=globe and other types woulg be useful. --Bahnpirat 14:41, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
- It's a good idea I think. --westfa 11:14, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

Both proposed features are approved, could one sum up the features on this main page? --westfa 11:13, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
Rendering
Mapnik and osmarender do not render CCTV. http://osm.vdska.de/ render CCTV but i can't make them appear. Is this website updated from osm main database or do i miss something ?
I tag "man_made=surveillance" for example here : http://www.openstreetmap.org/?node=793023289.
