Template for the Boundary table in the Map Features page. Use the default English text or use the template arguments for your translations

Usage

All parameters are optional. By default, text is in English. English writers shall write their comments in the template itself (avoiding double edition). Other languages are translated in template arguments, not in the template itself.

Boundary

Used to describe administrative and other boundaries. See Boundaries for more details.

boundary administrative Area e.g. State, county, local council (unclear how these are specified. Clarify!). Use therefore admin_level=*

boundary national_park Area Area of outstanding natural beauty, set aside for conservation and for recreation (Other languages)

boundary protected_area Area Protected areas, such as for national-parks, water protection areas or indigenous areas.
border_type * Way Area To distinguish between types of boundary within same category, or to set type of special borders, that have no other category. This can be used to determine the difference between various levels of boundary=maritime, in the same way as admin_level=* is used for boundary=administrative. The usage of border_type=* is wide, see tag for complete description.
boundary user defined Node Way All commonly used values according to Taginfo
Attributes
admin_level Number Area Applies to boundary=administrative and is usually in the range 1 to 10, except for Germany where it might be 11 - see boundary.
